Cadwyn Clwyd’s element delivered the following activities:

We delivered investment in local businesses and communities through supporting communities, businesses and potential entrepreneurs at the micro and local level to unleash their creative potential and support innovation. Activities focused on:

• Improving business productivity, competitiveness and growth.
• Supporting entrepreneurship and innovation.
• Facilitating local collaboration on economic development to achieve added value from joint working and enhanced collaboration

We worked with:

• Denbighshire Community Action Groups – clusters of geographical community groups (e.g. relevant to market towns or industrial estates) and clusters of sectoral communities of micro and small businesses to enable them to undertake pilot projects and feasibility studies on a collective basis with focus on green growth and post covid recovery.
• Individual Businesses: Denbighshire Innovation Grant – Individual micro and small business (start up and existing) including social enterprises, to innovate and trial new products, processes, and service delivery with emphasis on innovation and entrepreneurship. The project trialled a support package for individuals and business entities at the local level to develop new ventures and business ideas with a firm focus on unleashing creative potential. A pilot project provided a bursary for revenue costs of £5,000 for 25 applicants in Denbighshire together with hands on support via Business Wales.
