People supporting people to take enterprising action against climate change

Cadwyn Clwyd delivers two contracts for RENEW Wales:

  1. RENEW Wales Coordinator
  2. Energy Local Advisor

Renew Wales was set up by a group of community practitioners to help 200 community groups tackle the causes and impacts of climate change through advice, training, mentoring and technical support from other experienced Community Practitioners.

RENEW Wales Coordinator

Through our 30 coordinators, the project will connect and open a dialogue with 200 community groups across Wales to motivate, inspire, and demonstrate what can be done (based on previous practical experience) and help communities make their own priorities for action through talks, workshops and focus groups.

The support will be peer to peer from people who have already delivered projects in their communities.

Energy Local Coordinator

Energy Local is a new way to enable local communities to work together to pool their locally owned generation and manage local demand to reduce bills and carbon emissions. Energy Local believes that communities should be able to benefit from moving their use of energy to cheaper times of day and matching it to local generation.

An OFGEM approved energy local trial is running in Bethesda, Gwynedd.  Energy Local Advisors have been employed to expand that trial to 5 new locations across Wales.
